Many people use a simple test called the C.R.A.A.P. test to determine whether or not to use a website as a source. To use this test, question the following about your source:
- Currency (is the information out of date or current?)
- Relevance (how does the information support your topic?)
- Authority (who wrote the information and why are they an expert?)
- Accuracy (does the information seem correct? Is there a bias?)
- Purpose (why is the information available? Are the authors selling something, trying to persuade readers, etc. at this website?)
