Abington Library is excited to announce our new Book to Movie feature located in the lobby. For November, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was chosen.
The book was first introduced by Author Roald Dahl in 1964. The story is about a young Charlie Bucket who gets the opportunity to tour a famous chocolate factory owned by the eccentric chocolatier, Willy Wonka. June 30th , 1971 introduced the first movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. On July 10th , 2005, the second movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, came out with several well-known stars appearing in its cast. Johnny Depp appeared as Willy Wonka with Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket, Helena Bonham as Mrs. Bucket and Christopher Lee as Dr. Wonka. The new Willy Wonka Movie, Wonka, which focuses on a younger Willy Wonka, is set to come out December 15th, 2023.
