The Mythmakers by John Hendrix
Reviewed by Ryan Gibbons
I've been a fan of J.R.R Tolkien ever since I read The Hobbit as a child. In the 50 or so years since I first read The Hobbit, I have re-read that book once every year since. Along the way, I also became intrigued by the friendship with Tolkien and Lewis, along with their cohort of intellectual friends and read about them in the past.
As I've gotten older and busier, I also have gotten into graphic novels more and more, as they are something I can pick up quickly and go on a reading journey, but complete it within a much shorter time frame.
This book was the perfect marriage of all of these factors and also turned out to be the most complete and comprehensive work on their friendship I have read to date.
If you are a fan of Lewis, or Tolkien, or both, then I believe this book is a must read! It has the added bonus of an occasional choose-your-own-adventure, with extra rabbit trails you can journey down if you are interested in them!
